クールジャパン

 日本は1904年から1905年までロシア帝国と戦いました。日露戦争中に、一番大切な戦闘は、日本語では「日本海海戦」といいますが英語では「つしま海戦」という戦闘です。日本軍の方はロシア軍より戦艦が多かったし新しくてよかったので、日本の大勝利に終わりました。 この映画はアルゼンチン海軍の大佐の日本海軍についての本を語ります。私はアルゼンチン人が日本軍について書いていたと知らなかったから、とても面白かったと思います。 Unfortunately, without subtitles, much of what was said in the documentary went over my head. I could understand bits and piece here and there, such as when a name or a lot of familiar vocabulary was used in a short space of time, but for the most part I had to look at the actual pictures and text on-screen to guess at what was being discussed.  Still, I did find it very funny that when the book from Argentina was first mentioned, the documentary decides to introduce Argentina as a country by showing a clip of Argentine tango dancers. I suppose tango is the first thing that comes to mind in Japan when Argentina comes up; not a terrible thing for which to be known I think.

 ボーイスカウトの時、よく作った料理の中で、一番作りやすいのは「ホーボー・ディナー」という物でした。まず、牛肉と色々な野菜（よく、にんじんやたまねぎだったけど、ほかの野菜も使うことができますよ）をまぜます。つぎに、錫箔（すずはく）でつつんで、キャンプの火に入れます。それから、覚えられない時間後で、火からホーボー・ディナーを出します。最後に、ボーイスカウトのようになりたいなら、フォークなんて使わないで食べなければなりませんよ！いただきます！ 9月8日2012年：左にいる子は私でした。料理のじゅんびをしていました。

「とーとつにエジプト神」というシリーズは古代エジプトについてのアニメです。とても単純な話ですけど、面白いです。アヌビスたちはみんな魂を裁いたりピザやピツァを食べたりほかの色々なことしたりします。 While watching, I realized the Japanese was actually very simple to understand, so at times I turned off the English subtitles and watched without them. However, vocabulary is an eternal battle, so I always went back and rewatched those parts to make sure I understood them properly.
